The Laborers Training School at The Jon P. Preciado Training Center is the premier construction training facility serving Arizona’s Laborers and signatory contractors.
Fully opened in 2026, this training center now carries the name of Jon P. Preciado in recognition of his leadership and lifelong commitment to expanding opportunity for working families through strong union careers and high-quality training.
How we achieve our mission:

The Jon P. Preciado Training Center provides an educational and training foundation for individuals seeking careers in the construction industry.
We deliver one of the safest and most highly trained construction workforces in America through a state-of-the-art apprenticeship program. With more than 50 classes led by subject matter experts and supported by advanced technologies, our program prepares Laborers to meet the evolving demands of a modern industry.
Our graduates are skilled, productive craft Laborers ready to build infrastructure that strengthens communities and drives economic growth.

What we do:

As a jointly administered labor-management trust fund, we ensure that we provide laborers, signatory employers, local unions, and partners with quality training and services that promote safety, respect, discipline, determination, dedication, leadership, and continual improvement.
We furnish participating Arizona construction contractors with a highly skilled, well-trained, and motivated workforce.
We reduce the number of injuries and deaths on construction jobs.

Employment
The Laborers Training School of Phoenix Arizona has an open application process seeking men and women 18 years and older who are interested in working in the construction trade. Apply online and you will be added to our waiting list to join our Apprenticeship Entry Assessment.
